About us.
Dedicated to rescuing and rehoming Domestic Animals and Wildlife across the Kent area. We help mostly Cats and Dogs but do also rescue Tortoises, Terrapins,Fish, small Animals, Birds and Wildlife.
Most Cats and Dogs reside in Foster homes across Kent but some stay at the rescue if they are not rehomable. We are entirely run by volunteers and self funded do we rely heavily on the publics generous Donations and word of mouth.
All Animal's are taken into our care, receive Medical Treatment and are put up for rehoming. We match Animal's to new homes so if you are not suitable for one Animal dont assume you are not suitable for another sometimes it takes a while to match up perfectly a family to one of our Animal's so patience is sometimes needed if your circumstances are tricky.
Homechecks and meetings with the Animal if possible are necesary and we are always on hand to answer any questions.
All the Wildlife that is brought to us receives Medical care and if possible is then released onto a private 20 acre site for its safety.
Become a Fosterer.
Provide a temporary loving home for an animal while they await their permanent family. Fostering saves lives. We are looking for Foster homes around the Kent area, ideally the fosterer should be able to work from home, have a secure garden and no children under 6 however everyone's circumstances are different and some Dogs can be matched up to certain people even if you don't meet that criteria allowances can be made depending on the Foster family and Dog so if you are interested in fostering just contact us and we can go through your details.
How to help.
There are many ways you can get involved and make a difference to the lives of animals in need. From adopting a pet to volunteering your time, every little helps.
Fostering is a big help, it includes having an Animal temporarily live with you until we find Its forever home, the rescue pays for Medical Treatment and food but you will be asked if its possible for you to transport to and from the Vets for treatment, new homes will need to visit your home to meet the Animal to see if the family and Animal match each other and you will be asked by the rescue your thoughts or concerns if you have any regarding each new home.
Volunteering to Transport an Animal to the Vets is always needed or to collect food Donations from people also volunteering to become a private Rosina Animal Centre Homechecker is essential where you visit a potential adopters home to check on their secure garden and make sure the home and family are ready to take on the responsibility of a rescue Animal.

# Whats involved with Adopting?
Our Adoption process is straight forward, we ask about your home and family set up to make sure you and the Rescue Animal match up. After all questions we set up a meeting with the Animal when possible in the Fosterers home so you can decide if this Rescue is going to join your family, Children and other Dogs are required to meet the rescue Animal in a neutral area for meet and greets.
# Will I need to give any Medical Treatment to the rescue Animal?
No, we give any Medical Treatment including Flea, Worming Treatments, Neutering, Microchipping and Vaccinations however after you Adopt you will then be responsible for any Medical Treatment or arising health concerns so insurance is important when Adopting.
# How much is it to Adopt?
Rehoming fees vary depending on what Treatment the Animal needs, if an Animal was well cared for and their owner was a responsible owner carrying out all Neutering, Microchipping etc then our rehoming fees will reflect that however most Animal's come into us needing Neutering, Microchipping, Vaccinations. Sadly other Animal's require extra Treatment such as skin irritations, Allergies, Wounds, long term neglect or minor options on Teeth, lumps etc which the Rescue tries to absorb if possible, some of our supporters set up a monthly Donation that helps us with the more serious cases.
# Do you like to stay in contact with New Adopters?
Yes we regularly contact the New Adopters to ask for updates and to remind the New Adopters of Vet appointments and Neutering appointments for young Animal's.
# Do you have restrictions on who can Adopt?
Yes we do as some Animal's come into the rescue with no back ground history so we cannot for example rehome a Dog with young children if the Dog has not previously lived with young children, all Animal's are assessed by our Fosterers and most will assess the Animal with children, other Dogs and Cats if possible but sometimes we will have to turn down a home if the Animal is not able to match the family perfectly. This does not mean the New Adopter has failed and cannot rehome an Animal but it means they cannot rehome a particular Animal if they are not a match.
# What do I need to do in order to Adopt?
First have a look on our website or Facebook page to see an Animal you want to rehome, then after you have read the write up of the Animal just contact us. You will need a Homecheck, that means we will ask a Homechecker to visit you and your family at an agreed date and time. Your garden must be made secure before the Homechecker visits and the whole family must be present. The Homechecker will need some details from you and will want to check on the security of your garden making sure there are high fences with no gaps, they will ask you some questions on if training classes are required, how long will the Dog be left alone for during working hours, where the Animal goes if you go on holiday, your experience with previous Dogs, contact details of your local Veterinarian and ofcourse if you already have a resident Animal our Homechecker will be happy to have cuddles or a belly tickle 😃
# Do you have age limits to Adopters?
For children yes we do, we generally don't rehome to children under 6 although sometimes exceptions are made depending on the Animal's assessment and the behaviour of children at the time of a Homecheck.
There are no age restrictions on older people, we believe the more mature homes can be just as perfect a home but if care of the Animal is made difficult by mobility or age related issues then supportive family members will be needed.
# You also take in Wildlife, how do you care for them?
We take in some Wildlife that needs recovery or time to grow, mostly we take on Injured Pigeons, Ducklings, Hedgehogs, Wild Rabbits, Young Magpies/Crows or Pheasants that have lost their parents too early, we let them rest as most are in shock, dehydrated or need building up then when they are strong we release them at a private 20 acre Woodland where they can decide to stay or leave at a later date.
